Live your myth in Greece – 7 days Crete

Day 1: Welcome to Greece! Landing at the Athens airport and, transfer to your city center hotel; check-in and if your program permits, optional Athens city and Acropolis tour. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2: Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the Athens airport, for the flight to Crete (Chania). The city of Chania, is by far the prettiest and, one of the most picturesque cities of the Mediterranean.

Upon arrival in Chania airport, meet your driver and transfer to the hotel, for check-in. Free day at leisure, to discover the beautiful city of Chania, by wandering in its Venetian harbour with the old port, the narrow shopping streets & its waterfront restaurants.

This is the best chance to see some of the old buildings, of Venetian and Turkish design, that Crete once had across the island. Overnight in Chania.

Day 3: Breakfast in the hotel. Meet your escort and, depart to visit an Olive Groves Estate, located within the Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO) Kolymbari area, to see how the organic olive oil is made. Later on, see one of the seven oldest olive trees in the Mediterranean, remaining productive and declared as a protected natural monument, since 1997.

Continue to Chania’s unique visitable Cosmetics factory; a family business, established by three Cretan women, to develop handcrafted, natural skin products. Sniff the vegetarian skin creams and gentle vegan soaps, made from scratch and never animal-tested.

Experience the secret of Greek beauty on your free tour through the workshop and test products on site. Return drive to the hotel, free afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Chania.

Day 4: Breakfast and transfer to Heraklion city, the capital of Crete. Take a step back in time, at 2000 BC and visit Knossos, the labyrinth palace of Crete and the center of the magnificent Minoan civilization

Knossos and its Palace, famous throughout the world through the myths of Europa, the Minotaur, the Labyrinth and Theseus, Daedalus and Icarus, opens a window to the most ancient civilization of Europe.

Continue to the Heraklion’s Archaeological Museum, a “must visit” institution, among the largest and most important museums in Greece / Europe.

It houses representative artifacts from all the periods of Cretan prehistory and history, covering a chronological span of over 5,500 years from the Neolithic period to Roman times.

Head to the hotel, check-in. Free afternoon at leisure, to wander around the city, see the Venetian buildings and castle, the impressive Cathedral, the fountains and the open street market. Overnight in Heraklion.

Day 5: Breakfast in the hotel and, free day at leisure. Alternatively, grab the change to experience some authentic experiences of the rural life of Crete:
-cheese making workshop, at a Cretan farm.
-Cretan theme honey bee keeping
-olive oil mucking olive trees
-animal feeding in a Cretan farm.
Overnight in Heraklion.

Day 6: Breakfast in the hotel, free day at leisure. Alternatively, you may conclude your stay in Crete, by enjoying a cooking lesson, followed by lunch; a Cretan cook will show you how to prepare authentic local recipes with fresh and organic ingredients and you will enjoy tasting them. The cooking class can be tailored to meet specific customers’ preferences.

A full menu will be enjoyed by the participants, including mineral water and wine. Return drive to the hotel, overnight in Heraklion.

Day 7: Breakfast and transfer to Heraklion airport, for the flight back to Athens and, the international flight back home.
