Meet your escort and driver at the hotel. Depart for an orientation tour and a walk, to the pedestrian street of Dionysiou Areopagitou, part of the city’s historic centre. Visit the oldest theatre in the world, the one of Dionysos, founded on the 06^th century BC at the foot of the Acropolis Hill.

This theatre, used to sit 14.000 spectators and, is an open air theatre. Next to it, there is a Stoa (Portico), which still exists in perfect condition and, used to connect the theatre of Dionysos with the one of Herod Atticus –the latter with a roof, being used in case of a bad weather.

In Dionysos theatre, the comedies and tragedies were performed for the first time in human history, written by Aristophanes, Aischylos, Sophocles and Evripides. Further, continue for a stimulating, wine tasting experience, under the supervision of expert sommeliers, featuring some of the most famous, Greek award-winning wines.

The wine consumption in Greece, is tightly connected to the everyday life of the Greeks, from the very ancient times. According to the Greek mythology, it was Dionysos, the Olympian god of the wine and the entertainment, who revealed the wine making procedure to the Greeks; a process that goes on, for at least 4.000 years.

During this tour, get initiated into the world’s oldest grapevines, explore grape varieties of different regions of Greece and, learn to identify their subtle differences. The wine tasting session, includes also a taste of traditional Greek cheese and cold cuts.

Choice in advance can be made for:

-“Session A”, of 60 minutes duration (tasting 5 different wine varieties from 5 regions of Greece)

or

-“Session B”, of 90 minutes duration (tasting 7 different wine varieties from 7 regions of Greece), both including a Greek spirit or dessert wine, at the end of a session.

Return drive to the hotel.
